Colin Robertson is an insurance producer with 10 years experience selling and servicing his small business and individual clients with their group health insurance (under 200 employees per company is our niche), other group benefits (dental, vision, life, and disability insurance), and individual life and disability insurance products.
Like many insurance producers, Colin started working with large mutual insurance companies as a “captive agent.” The captive agent arrangement is something that insurance companies have done for hundreds of years, putting a contractual obligation to sell that particular insurance company’s products or services over competing brands. While there is a lot of infrastructure support to help train and grow young agents, the idea of putting an obligation to uphold a contract between the agent and the insurance company above what’s best for his clients did not sit well with Colin. After several years with this particular mutual insurance company, Colin decided start Protect Your Best Insurance. This independent platform allows Colin to continue to offer his clients unbiased and independent access to the best insurance products available.
